Getting There

Direct Flights

British Airways is currently flying three times a week non-stop to San José Airport, Costa Rica only in high season between the months of November and March from London Gatwick. The flights are scheduled to depart UK and Costa Rica on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and the flight takes just under 11 hours.

Flights can vary considerably in price depending on season, but are currently from approx. £800 per person in low season to over £1,200 per person in peak season (including summer holidays)

Via US

There are flights from London Heathrow and Manchester Airports to Costa Rica via the US that have same day connections through cities such as Miami, Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and New York. Most flights from the US arrive at San Jose Airport in the Central Valley, an ideal location to start a tour of Costa Rica, however, there are flights with United Airlines and American Airlines that arrive at Liberia airport in the northern Pacific region, ideal for the Pacific coast and surfing towns.

Flights via the US require that you pass through US immigration when connecting which requires application of a US Visa Waiver at least 72 hours prior to arrival if you are a British passport holder. At Naturally Costa Rica we can arrange itineraries that include a holiday combining time in the US with a stay in Costa Rica, please contact us to discuss further on 0208 274 8510 or email your requirements to info@naturallycostarica.co.uk.

Via Madrid

Flights are available with Iberian Airlines via Madrid to San José.

Via Mexico

AeroMexico has direct flights from Mexico City to San José Airport in Costa Rica, and also flights from London Heathrow to Mexico City so it should be possible to connect from the UK to Costa Rica via Mexico City.
